HAPPY FATHER’S DAY, DADS!
ROMANS 5:1-2
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ; by whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
II SAMUEL 22:4
I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised . . .
It made me laugh when I read that there are more collect telephone calls made on Father’s Day than any other day of the year. No matter how old they are, it seems children desire to connect with their dads on his special day to honor him, express their appreciation, and to let him know that he’s being remembered, even if he does have to pay for it! Most dads don’t mind, though. They’re just glad to hear from their kids.
God, our Loving Heavenly Father, longs to hear from His children, too. He delights in hearing their praise, honor and expressions of appreciation for who He is, and for what He does. By His death on the cross, Jesus Christ opened those lines of communication for us to connect with God the Father anytime, anywhere. What an incredible thought!
Be sure to connect with your Heavenly Father. Tell Him how much you appreciate His gift of salvation and the blessings He sends your way. Praise Him for His faithfulness. Let Him hear from you not just on Father’s Day, but every day. Call Him often. Remember, you don’t have to worry about the charges. They’ve already been paid by Jesus!
Loving Father, how I praise and thank You for Your unparalleled love that sent Jesus to the cross to die so that I might be connected with You. Thank you for the open communication with You that is possible for me as Your child because Christ was willing to pay the debt of my sin.
